{2 of my favorite things::personal}

1.) AMAZING michigan weather, seriously when we have great weather it is over the top!

2.) the flowering crab apple trees in my yard, I just wish they would bloom all summer long

so today as we enjoyed the glorious day, my husband kept commenting on how awesome our flowering crab apple trees were and how cool there flowers are...so I am sharing with you all the beauty of my trees :)

{sweet innocence ~ Grand Rapids Newborn Photographer}

Newborns ~ so sweet but not always the easiest to photograph. I love sleepy newborn pictures but as all moms out there know, the babes have their own agenda and if we want them sleepy they might just stay awake! With that being said I do Love photographing them, as I am always up for a challenge! Awhile back my good friend and fellow photographer, Audrey Habeck gave me a few of her secrets ... well I tried them out, and they totally work! Thanks Aud, luv ya girl!

{Andrea ~ Grand Rapids Portrait Photographer}

Ok so I totally love this girl...Andrea is a senior rep for me representing the Jenison school district. I met Andrea through the Renee Austin prom fashion show. After meeting her I knew she was going to be great. She is a totally cool girl: tons of fun, lots of style, incredibly gorgeous, daughter to a super mom, and musically talented....so we did her first session around downtown for a fun urban feel...

{run, run as fast as you can~Grand Rapids Children's Photographer}

He definitely had me running...

so after this session I decided I didn't need a trip to the gym, thanks Parker!

Typical boy all the way around, full of energy and determined to do the opposite of what we (his mom & I) wanted, which was to get some great pictures of him. My philosophy on children's photography is more of a lifestyle approach.....what does this mean? Well I will capture your child as is....they may sit still for a few but there might be some movement/action shots. There are bound to be smiles, some laughter, silly faces and maybe a few tears...but the beauty of this all is that we have truly captured the essence of your child. All the parents out there know these moments pass us by much to quickly, so we must document our child's sweetness, silliness, defiance, innocence, attitude and all else that makes them so special to us!

This little wild man is also special for another reason, he is my cousins son: meet Parker. They live out in Washington and we usually only get to see them 1 to 2 times a year. Parker is just 8 weeks younger than my Skylar and they LOVE to play together. So the day of the session my Cuz thought it a good idea if Skylar came along for the session (you know to be a helper & since Parker enjoys her company)....well to my surprise (for the most part) she was so great. At one point Parker wanted to be done and was squirming out of his mama's arms and Skylar hid behind me and started playing peek-a-boo, priceless! It totally worked, smiles and giggles abound!
